Gratos for iPhone

Gratos for iPhone is coming to the App Store. It keeps the people you care about in one place, finds a real gift from a real store when you ask, and places the order only when you tap Approve.

Updated

What does the Gratos app do?

Gratos is an assistant for sending physical gifts to the people you care about. Tell Gratos who the gift is for. It finds something real from a real store, shows you the full price, and places the order only when you tap Approve. Then the store ships it straight to them.

You make one decision: Approve.

How do I ask for a gift?

Ask for a gift the way you'd ask a friend: "a birthday gift for my sister under $60". Type it or say it. Gratos answers with picks from real stores, each with its price, and leaves out anything on the person's never-send list.

What do I see before I approve?

The exact total. The approve screen shows each item, the delivery cost, the tax and what your card will be charged. In the example below that is $50.00 + $7.00 delivery + $6.02 tax = $63.02. Nothing is bought until you tap Approve, and Gratos checks the total again at checkout (Terms, §3.5).

Gratos never sees your card number, and there are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Can the app remember birthdays for me?

Yes. Save each person once, with the dates that matter, what they like, what they avoid, their sizes and what never to send them. You can import people from your iPhone contacts or a CSV or vCard file.

Home shows what's coming up and anything waiting on you, so you can see a date coming. When you want to send something, ask, and approve.

What if I don't have their address?

No address? Ask for it. Gratos gives you a link to send them. They fill in their address, and it's saved to their page for this gift and the next. See how to send a gift without an address.

When can I download it?

Gratos for iPhone is coming to the App Store. It will be free, for iPhone, in the United States, for people 18 and older.

Until then, get early access below. Gratos is available by invitation while we add merchants city by city.

Questions

Is the Gratos app free?

Yes. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases, and there is no Gratos fee right now. We'll tell you before that changes. You pay the store for the gift, tax and shipping. See pricing.

Does the app use my location or photos?

No. The iOS app does not use your location, photos or camera, and contains no analytics or advertising software. If you dictate, Apple's speech recognition turns your voice into text (Privacy Policy, §1).

Can I follow an order after I approve it?

Yes. Follow each order from placed to delivered in Activity.

Can I use Gratos with my AI agent?

Sign your agent in to your Gratos account, or have it text Gratos, and it can look for gifts and get them ready for you. Gratos stops before every purchase for approval of the exact total, so you decide what gets bought.
